Washingtons attorneys united to create the Campaign for Equal Justice, an annual giving drive benefiting all of our states civil legal aid programs.
Campaign Co-Chairs Paula Boggs and Bill Neukom are assisted by over 100 volunteers who raise funds to support over twenty-five legal aid programs throughout Washington. The Campaign runs on a calendar year cycle, ending on December 31st of each year.
A Message from 2009-2010 Campaign Co-Chairs Paula Boggs and Bill Neukom
The economic crisis we now find ourselves in creates uncertainty for all of us, but we know the downturn is hitting our most vulnerable neighbors the hardest. In these challenging times, we are honored to co-chair the fifth annual statewide Campaign for Equal Justice giving drive to provide much-needed charitable support for civil legal aid in our state and we strongly urge you to consider joining us in participating in the Campaign this year.
As the financial meltdown finds more and more people facing poverty for the first time, legal aid programs are experiencing an unprecedented demand for assistance. Families are facing homelessness due to home and rental foreclosures, a skyrocketing need for bankruptcy assistance and many other serious civil legal problems as a result of the economy.
Your donation to the Campaign for Equal Justice gives our state’s more than 25 civil legal aid programs the ability to address critical survival needs of Washington’s most vulnerable. Access to a legal aid attorney can help families in crisis preserve their homes, shield themselves from domestic violence, thwart fraudulent or predatory practices, and maintain employment, healthcare, and livelihood.
May 1st, Law Day marks the 2009 Campaign for Equal Justice Kick-off – we ask you to help us build a tradition by donating to the Campaign for Equal Justice. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Campaign for Equal Justice—a relatively simple way each of us can help families and individuals in crisis throughout Washington, return to safe and productive lives. Thank you.
Sincerely,
